What defines professional racquet stringing?
• We never double pull strings. We never tension two strings with a single pull. Every string is individually pulled at the correct reference tension.
• Ensuring the center two mains strings are pulled to the correct tension. Even stringers who don’t double-pull other strings will double pull the two center strings. This practice is considered correct and unavoidable. We avoid it. Double pulling the two-center mains will create a soft-spot within the sweet-spot taking away target accuracy.
• Tying off strings in the correct grommets holes. Tying off strings in the incorrect grommet holes damage fragile grommets and can possibly cause racquet distortion. I have been the victim of this by big name website retailers.
• Using a “constant pull” machine not a “lock-out” machine. A “constant pull” machine pulls the string until it stops stretching. We combine “constant -pull” with technique and pride.
